Definition of the cache
The Cache is the computer memory that collects temporary data to help websites, browsers and apps load faster.
The cache makes it easy for the computer, laptop, phone, web browser or app to retrieve data quickly. This helps the device or page load faster. It also means the device or page doesn't need re-downloading every time you visit.
What it means to clear the cache
Clearing the cache means to delete the files the are stored within the cache. This can be cleared by you on your device, generally in the settings menu.
By clearing the cache you can free up storage space and allow the app or device to display the latest version on the web page or file (such as an image or attachment).
Drupal and caching
As a part of the Drupal operating system, it automatically clears the cache on a regular basis.
If you need the cache to be cleared quickly
If an old file such as a PDF is appearing and you need the new PDF to appear, let us know by completing the Content changes, website updates and support from a Content Administrator form.
A team member will then be able to help clear the cache of the page or file for you.
