Using Basic and Advanced HTML

Basic and Advanced HTML is used to add HTML code into the webform and is commonly used to add text and headings. 

When you should use HTML elements

  • If you need to add text or headings into the webform, and it can't be added with the existing webform elements

When you should avoid using HTML elements

  • If you're not familiar with HTML code
  • If there is another element in the webform that can be used

Guidelines

Do:

  • Test the elements to ensure they are working the way you expect it to

Don't:

  • Use this element to replicate existing elements available in a webform - use existing elements instead 

Add a HTML element

  1. Navigate to Structure > Webforms > Forms
  2. Open your webform and navigate to Build > + Add element.
  3. In the Select an element popup, and select either Basic HTML or Advanced HTML
  4. Add your content into the HTML markup editor
    • Select from one of the following text types: Paragraph, Heading 2, Heading 3, Heading 4, Heading 5, Heading 6
    • Select from one of the text styles: bold, italics, super script, sub script, numbered lists, and bullet lists
    • Add or modify HTML code by selecting the three dots on the top right-hand side of the editor, followed by the "Source" option
