Using a progress bar

A progress bar allows website visitors to see how many steps there are in a webform. When a form is being completed, the progress bar visually indicates how much of the form has been completed and how much remains.

When you should use a progress bar

  • For forms that span across multiple steps or pages

When you should avoid using a progress bar

  • For single page forms that don't have multiple steps or pages

Guidelines

Do:

  • Use for webforms that contain two or more steps or pages

Don't:

  • Use for forms that only has one step
