Sub-navigation links can be added to your page to help your audience navigate your content as an alternative to a side nav. The sub-navigation links variant can only be used on landing pages in an edge-to-edge section.
Adding sub-navigation links
To add sub-navigation links:
1. Go to the Layout screen of your landing page and select Add block.
2. Select Links, then choose Sub-navigation as the variant.
3. Add a Heading. This will display above your links.
4. Choose the correct heading level for your new Heading in the Type field. When using Heading 2 for 'Type', you can check the Excluded from in-page navigation checkbox to hide the H2 heading from the in-page navigation. Find out more about Heading levels.
5. Add your links. You can use the drop down to select Content (internal links), Managed links (links to external sites) or Media files. Enter your page link below the select box in the URL field. If you're adding a Content link, you can tick the checkbox for Use short title if you'd like to use that page's short title. This will only work if a short tile has been entered for the page you're linking to.
6. Click Add another item and continue adding links. You should add a minimum of 3 links, maximum of 6.
If the block is to be used across multiple pages, consider creating a reusable content block in the Content block library. If you don't have access to this you'll need to contact the Help Hub team.
