In-page notices, previously In-page notifications, are used to contextually inform users of important information on a content page.
Note: Single notices can no longer be created for landing pages from July 10, 2024. Use in-page notices to set up notices for your landing pages instead.

When to use In-page notices
Do
-
Use In-page notices on standard content pages or landing pages. On landing pages use the Two thirds / Third - Large gutter section layout only, as using the alert on a Full-width section creates readability issues.
-
Use a short, descriptive heading – maximum of 75 characters.
-
Keep the alert text short and to the point. Use sentence case in paragraph format. Do not include subheadings. Text has a limit of 250 characters.
-
Add an In-page notices to the body of your page to highlight important information for the audience.
-
Display the alert in context and at an appropriate time and place in the page flow.
-
Make sure any expired alerts are removed.
-
Keep number of In-page notices per section to a minimum – preferably 1 alert per group of related content.
-
In-page notices should be placed at the top of the section that it relates to. If it relates to the page as a whole, place it at the top of the page directly under the title and summary text or hero banner.
Don't
- Don't use In-page notices to highlight important information for a limited time only. Use a callout for temporary messages.
Creating the notice as a Notice item
Before an In-page notice can be added on a page, it must first be created as a Notice item.
To create a Notice item, go to Content > Notices > Add Notice then fill in the fields as needed. Select In-page notice as the variant.
- Provide the Admin label. This is mandatory.
- Select the variant as In-page notice.
- Provide the Heading. The text given in the heading will form part of the text in the final banner.
- Add the remaining text in the Body and provide the required formatting.
- 140 characters (including text link) is the recommended limit in the ‘Body’.
- Add any internal or external links using Links: Content or Managed Links respectively
- Select the Editorial Group. This is mandatory. More than one group can be added.
- Save as Published.
- Click Save.
Note:
- Only the tagged Editorial Group will be able to edit or delete the notice through the Notices entity. Content editors will not be able to tag a different Editorial group when creating a notice.
- Content editors with notices view permission will be able to view all notices.
