The nsw.gov.au Content Management System (CMS) is integrated with Okta Single Sign-On (SSO). Integrating with Okta provides you with a secure, personalised, and easy way to access the nsw.gov.au CMS. This happens through a seamless authentication experience. This means that you will not need to remember and use a separate password to login and edit your agency pages.
Login to the CMS through SSO
Access to the CMS is dependent on your email address domain. The domain is on the end of your email address following the '@' symbol. Eg, '@tco.nsw.gov.au' where the domain is 'tco.nsw.gov.au'.
- If your email address is with a DFSI domain, follow the steps for 'Accessing the CMS with your Department of Customer Service SSO credentials'.
-
If your email address is not with a DFSI domain, follow the steps for 'Accessing the CMS through the NSW Government Digital Channels' SSO site' below.
Accessing the CMS with your Department of Customer Service SSO credentials
Follow the steps below to login to the nsw.gov.au Content Management System (CMS) with your Department of Customer Service Single Sign-On (SSO) credentials. This would be the same credentials you would use to login to SAP or MyCareer as examples.
-
Firstly, you will need to request a Drupal CMS account to get started.
If you already have a CMS account, skip to Step 2. Otherwise, fill in our Access to nsw.gov.au platforms form, selecting the below options and filling in the rest of the form as required.
- Platform: Drupal CMS
- CMS access request type: Create my Drupal CMS account
-
Once we have created your account, head over to nsw.gov.au/user, then click on the 'Login with Okta' button.
-
On the Username field, type in your email address, then click on the Next button.
-
You will now need to login with your password. Click on the Select button to the right of Password.
-
On the Password field, type in your password (the same password you use to login to SAP/myCareer), then click on the Verify button.
-
You will now need to verify your identity. Select the security method of your choice. We recommend choosing either Okta Verify - Get a push notification or Google Authenticator.
-
Verify yourself using your security method of choice.
Note: clicking on 'Verify with something else' will allow you to choose another verification/security method (Step 6).-

If you have previously logged in before
The rest of these steps is only required the first time you are logging in to the CMS through Okta. If you have already logged in successfully before, you will now be redirected to nsw.gov.au/user and logged in to the CMS again. You may also be prompted to accept the Terms and Conditions again if there is an update you need to agree to.
-
-
From here, your account will need to be set up with DCS Okta - MFA.
Your account may already be set up with this if you have an active Help Hub account. (A Help Hub account is separate to your CMS account) If so, you will not get this prompt, and can proceed with Step 9 below.
Click Set up to do this.
Then click on Enroll.
-
You will be prompted to accept the Terms and Conditions. Read through the Terms and Conditions first and familiarise yourself with what you are agreeing to. When you are ready, tick the checkbox by selecting the box, then select Submit.

- You are now successfully set up with Okta for your Drupal CMS account, and have successfully logged in through Okta. You will only need to set yourself up with Okta once.

Okta account activation assistance
If you are logging in with your Department of Customer Service credentials, you will not receive an email to activate your Okta account as your account is already on Okta.
If you are logging in through the NSW Government Digital Channels' SSO site, you would have received a 'Welcome to Okta!' email. Have a look for the Okta account activation email first on your junk folder in your inbox (searching for noreply@okta.com), and also on your Microsoft Quarantine page. If the email is in neither of them, submit a ticket through nsw.gov.au platforms login issue form and we will guide you through what you need to do next.
