Updating media in the media library

Have more questions? Submit a request

You may find that you need to upload a new version of your file. This process is for when you don’t want to break your link to any published page and just change the document that displays or downloads for the end user.

1. Navigate to Content > Media and search for your media file.

2. Open your file in the media library to edit the content.

3. Select Replace file and choose your replacement file to upload.

4. Untick the Overwrite original file checkbox.

5. If the new media item is an image that needs a credit then enter this into the Image credit field.

6. In the Revision log message field you can enter a brief description of why the media file has been replaced.

7. Click Save.

Your image/media on your published page should now, or within the 30 minute server caching window, refresh with the updated media.
