Sometimes content editors are asked to 'take down', archive or unpublish a page in the Content Management System (CMS).
Once a page is published, it is live for the public to see. If you need to unpublish it, you will need to archive the page.
Archiving a page:
- Click on the Live Published menu
- Click on the Archive button
By archiving the page, anyone visiting it will receive a 'page not found' error. You'll need to ensure that you create a redirect to another published page to improve the customer experience.
Note: You can republish the page at a later time, bringing it back to 'life' if need be.
